Emergency Arrangements

School Closures for Minor Incidents

If the school is closed due to unforeseen circumstances (eg, exceptional weather) parents will be informed in three ways:

  1. Messages will be sent via School Comms to all parents and carers.
  2. An alert will be sent via Facebook.
  3. The school website will have information on the home page.

School Closures for Major Incidents

All schools have contingency plans for emergency circumstances. Oak View School has a written plan for such emergencies called the Business Continuity Plan, this document details the actions the school will take in response to different circumstances. This includes the need to evacuate pupils from the school premises and how the school will continue to function in the weeks after a serious event.
