Induction Programme

We offer our comprehensive Induction Training Programme to all new staff who join Oak View throughout the year. This training booklet details the sessions on offer, along with costs and booking information for external practitioners.

What We Offer

 Our training covers a wide range of essential topics:

• The Role of an LSA and how to support pupils with complex SEND needs.
• Special Educational Needs & Disability (SEND) Focused Training:

• • ASD Induction Part 1 and Part 2.

  • TEACCH / Structured Teaching.

  • Intensive Interaction.

  • SCERTS Induction.

  • Attention Autism.

  • PMLD / AAC (Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties / Augmentative & Alternative Communication).

• Communication Training:

  • ELKLAN.

  • MAKATON Induction.

  • Colourful Semantics and PECs Induction.

  • Widgit Online & Social Stories—the power of visuals!.

• Safety and Care:

  • Manual Handling (The movement and Handling of People).

  • PRICE training (3 hours initial session for EFSPT schools only).

Training Dates and Booking

 Training sessions run on a cycle during the Autumn, Spring, and Summer terms.

Cost of Sessions

 The cost per training session varies based on your school's affiliation:

• £0 for Oak View (OV) staff.

• £12 for EFSPT staff (from Epping Forest Schools Partnership Trust).

• £15 for non-Trust staff.

Special Note on PRICE Training: The 3-hour initial PRICE training session is only offered to EFSPT schools. This session has a maximum capacity of 15 people.
